This is the second album from these Canadian kids out of Ajax, Ontario (suburb of Toronto) that is already gaining them masses of fans.
What you see is what you get with Sum 41. The four guys in Sum 41 range from 19-21 in age, and you can definitely tell by their music. They play that well know brand of melodic punk, and they have nearly perfected it with this album. Their first single "Fat Lip" contains sweet melodies, great breakdowns, and they even included some "rapping" in the mix. Other standout songs include "Motivation", "In Too Deep", and, "Handle This". The strongest aspect of this album is the vocals. They're extremely tight and right on the mark. Every song seems to have a memorable vocal melody that just stays in your head for days. The background vocals immensely brings out the lead vocals parts adding an even stronger effect to an already good vocal recording. You can tell these guys have spent way too much time around the likes of Blink 182 and others by their sense of humor. Instead of ending of their album with a song that leaves fans wanting more, they decided to leave you with a "hair-metal band" type song that just makes you want to laugh. The only negative point with this album is the length of it; they managed to have 13 songs in just over thirty minutes. Fans of Blink 182, Gob, and New Found Glory should definitely pick up this album, you won't be disappointed.
