Angelica

This demo is awesome! Angelica is a band that should be known. This Canadian project has a very clean, European sound. It's very commercial, but don't let that scare you! Dennis Cameron's blazing guitar licks are definitely hot enough to keep your attention. There's enough crunch here to match most any metal band. The song compositions are above par promising a musical future for Angelica. God's given Dennis a message that's straight-forward and life-changing, as well as a talent to be heard and respected. "Follow Me/ Follow Him" starts off with a fluid two-note intro with just the right amount of delay as power-chords march the song into some authoritative verse: "Pressing on towards our goal...follow me, follow Him and we'll walk together." "(Another) Broken Dream" starts off with a real groovy (did I say that?) tradeoff between guitar and tom tom. The standard metal scream is mixed in and out and the song plods along from there. The chorus is real anthemic and melodic, much like Kiss. There's a shrill neo-classical lead during the bridge of this song that shows us a glimpse at Cameron's skills as a guitarist. "Here's Lookin' At You" ends this tape with another hook-filled song. Someone put this band in the studio with lots of time and a hot producer. Angelica sounds like a hit-making machine. Watch out Shout! Angelica is currently two-piece, consisting of: Dennis Cameron on a six-string contraption of some sort; and Andy Lyon, who filled in as a substitute vocalist for White Lion during an illness of Mike Tramp. They're looking to complete their lineup so as to tour with their material and hopefully support their debut album.
