As Friends Rust is from Florida and has been together for five years (with different members at different times). They have released several albums, including this one, "Won," on Doghouse Records.
As Friends Rust (to be hereby referred to as AFR) is an agro-melodic band with strong influences from the hardcore, punk and emo scene. The music is up-tempo and wide ranging in stylistic approach. The production and recording is solid and the layout is nice too. "Ten" is probably my favorite track on the album, which is one of the slower songs, but it's catchy and stands out. The album also includes the guest vocals of Chad Neptune (Strongarm, Further Seems Forever) in some songs. AFR offers something for everyone and their music isn't stale or tedious, but for some reason it just doesn't hit me in the gut. While what they are doing is definitely worth listening to, it failed to grab me.
