Curl Up and Die is from Las Vegas, NV and have been together since 1998. This is their debut full length ("Unfortunately We're Not Robots) on Revelation Records.
The first thing that grabs your attention is song titles such as "Ted Nugent Goes AOL," "You'd Be Cuter If I Shot You In The Face," and "On The Run From Johnny Law Ain't No Trip To Cleveland." This was recorded and engineered by Kurt Ballou of Converge and is an interesting trip into the land of metal-chaos. For the most part, the songs sound the same save the varying placement of breakdowns and fills. The one stand out track is "You'd Be Cuter If I Shot You In The Face," which is a very cleverly written piece that starts off slower and low, then builds with increased intensity until it explodes. While this is a very good song, the rest disappoints. There are some creative elements here and there throughout the songs, but taken as a whole the album is little more than average.
