Their record label describes them as "melancholy pop" and I would have to say that's pretty accurate. It's definitely melodic, and after just a listen or two I was singing along to most of this album. The band reminded me a little bit of Buffalo Tom, yet they had more of an indie rock feel to many of their songs. Some may even compare them to the Juliana Theory minus the distorted guitars and more aggressive side of that band. The production turned out really good, the songs are fully developed and sound a lot better than most of the stuff that is being played on commercial radio these days.
This is the type of band that should be getting played on your local commercial station but since they are on an indie label, and don't have a major label behind them buggin these stations to play them it just doesn't happen.
If you're into some of the more pop based bands within today's indie rock scene then definitely check this album out.
