The setting for Bryan Duncan's concert video is a night performance at the Flevo festival in Holland. The project features 10 songs by Duncan, one song by Anointed (who were singing back-up for him), the video for "Love Takes Time," and, of course, some clips of Duncan before the performance.
Knowing Duncan's humorous side, I expected there to be non-stop joking around through the off-stage segments. Many of them are a little more on the serious side, talking about Anointed, some of the songs, and a very personal discussion about some of his recent faith-walk experiences.
Despite having stayed up all night before his show so that he could watch other acts, Duncan offers a sharp performance, with plenty of funk. He adds some scatting and keyboard improvisation to help engage the crowd, and seems rather successful at that.
His song list is: "Mercy Me," "Five Smooth Stones," "When it Comes to Love," "You Don't Leave Me Lonely," "Step by Step," "Love Takes Time," "Somebody Loves You," "Ain't No Stoppin'," "I Love You With My Life," and "Rely on Me."
Clocking in near 50 minutes, the project is not filled with effects or glitz, it simply relies on the quality performance of Duncan, and comes across well.
