Being somewhere between straight ahead rock and roll and old school hardcore ala Kill Your Idols (who they shared a split with in 2003), Crime In Stereo's debut full length isn't exactly expansive in its sound, but it's effective in what it does do nonetheless. The songs are fast and to the point and the vocals lean more towards shouting as opposed to a guttural scream. 'Play It Loud *******' features an excellent hook in the chorus alongside the one two punch of the guitars and a tight rhythm section, while 'What A Strange Turn Of Events' has an amazing lead riff along the bridge. The band's music is extremely organized despite its chaotic elements, and the double guitars playing off of each other makes the record all the more entertaining. Excellent for a first attempt.
