These early-Yes clones are back with another art rock release of nine tunes. Lots of classical sounds and riffs are used here (check out the "Gloria En Excelsis Deo" intro to "An Angel") to create an ethereal/heady atmosphere. Thomas McKeown uses lots of organ sounds on his keys. A real surprise on this, I think, the band's 4th release, is that the guys rise up and do an out 'n' out rocker! "Reckless" is performed with an energy that lives up to its title--especially for this band. The intro to "Lead Me On" almost finds these guys in the 90's! Overall, Damascus shows growth and maturity. This is its best album to date. For ordering info, write: 1112 Cherrywood Dr, Mount Prospect IL 60056.
