Dead Poetic is releasing "Four Wall Blackmail," their debut with Solid State records. They formed in 1997 and are from Dayton, OH.
Dead Poetic is a new addition to Solid State. Their sound is what I like to call "Sing-Song Hardcore." It's a growing sound that has been popularized by Thursday. While one might compare D.P. to Thursday, I have no problem promoting them as better. For one, the singing is much better. But enough comparison...Dead Poetic can stand by themselves. The whole album is a good listen, with distinct songs that don't run together in a pit of noise. Unlike some current music, the singing and screaming aren't placed in a haphazard fashion, but they flow together creating a well-written song. The instrumental music seems to straddle many different fences not merely following along in another's footsteps. Give it a listen, you'll probably like it no matter where you place yourself on the musical spectrum.
