Denison Witmer is probably one of the best singer/songwriters in the scene right now. It's just him and his guitar (for the most part) and he has this charm that just seems to draw you in. "Safe Away" was recorded a few years back and was originally released by Denison. Burnt Toast loved the CD so much they decided to re-release the album this year, and add 3 songs to it. So the music on this album I have become extremely familiar with, listening to the CD over and over again the past few years, and I still love it. Much like David Bazan (Pedro the Lion) Denison's songs seem to tell a story, yet his seem to be a little more fact than fiction. If you're into mellow acoustic music with passion and emotion then you're going to have to check out this release. Not only does Denison have a great voice, he has a very distinct voice that you will have a hard time getting out of your head.
