Eli's new release, Now the News, is a great collection of songs with lyrics that tell the stories of the headlines from today's media in a way only Eli can. His message comes from images and stories he has seen that touch and break his heart. The music features strong vocals and acoustic guitar.

Eli has a very unique voice that is like no other. The way his voice speaks to your soul is too hard to put in to words--you have to hear it. The music is very much like Eli's first two albums. Many of the tunes have a beat similar to earlier songs. It's almost as if you are hearing a lot of the same tunes but with new words. Normally this would be a bad thing because you'd get bored, but I actually find it refreshing because it's the same Eli I love, only each album seems to improve his style a little more.

This new release has brief interludes throughout the album that help create the presence of a news room and also gives Eli a chance to voice his message loud and clear while allowing the listener to hear a more intimate side of him. At first I was a little annoyed with the interludes because I just wanted to listen to the music, but the more I listened the more I enjoyed what Eli had to say and I don't think the album would be the same without the interludes. I think this album will open your eyes to the things we see and hear everyday and simply pass by. Eli makes us take a closer look and gives a very simple, clear picture of what is there. He also shares God's response to these everyday dilemmas and how we might respond to such things. I love the album and would highly recommend it to anyone who is an Eli fan.
