A dynamic collection honoring a great band.

Elliott are icons in the music world. Whether you know it or not, this band is/was huge in Europe. Granted they were not has well received here in the States. They play a style that is sometimes unfortunately referred to as "snorecore." It seems like music fans either have loads of respect for Elliott are have no respect for the group.

Elliott broke up in 2003. Revelation Records recently came out with Photorecording consisting of some of the band's best songs and a DVD documentary. It is an amazing offering for Elliott fans everywhere. All of the songs are what you would expect from Elliott. Lengthy tracks that are filled with beautiful instrumental parts; and of course topped off with Chris Higdon's vocals.

The combination of the DVD and CD combine for an excellent tribute to an amazing band. The dvd has a 45 minute documentary about the history of the band, reasons for the breakup, etc. It also has a few live songs on it, plus countless live clips. It is fun to watch. The CD booklet is also worth mentioning. Lot of great black and white photos. A nice addition to go with the CD and dvd.

There really isn't much to say here other than what Elliott is all about. Most everybody has heard them before. This disc is a great buy for fans of Elliott. However, if they weren't anything special to you before, then it obviously isn't worth $15.
