Bleeding, barely conscious and helpless, I soon became aware that I was being dragged to safety by a group of my new dancer friends (by the way, thanks guys!). Yes, I got pretty beat up at the Underoath show at Cornerstone. You laugh now, because Underoath may not be the hardest thing out there today, but give the guys props — that show was crazy. My trusty bandana that goes everywhere with me still has blood stains on it along with my dancing pants. I'm not just a little girl who doesn't know how to protect myself or what I'm talking about...
WARNING: to all the metal heads (and all other persons attending an Enamored show), frequent dancing may occur. Watch for flailing appendages! Enamored is the love child of tough guy hardcore and pure metal mania. By defying the "tough guy" sound, they have managed to add a melodic aspect. There is an attempt at vocals without distortion and, at some times, this clean sounding voice is pulled off (but kids, stick with the screaming). A Weapon For War, released July 2002 on DTS Records, is lyrically solid and totally Spirit-filled. "Battle Hymn" starts us out with a declaration that "Christ is victory" and continues on to remind us that even when we are weak, He is strong. The lyrics are straight from the heart, a direct delivery on a silver platter. Kids, this is HxC worship.
