Erase
Mental Overload
Reviewed by tedcore
erase are a hard/metalcore outfit from langley, b.c. canada, headed up by jason campbell, who did a stint playing gtr with mortification in their primitive rhythm machine era. the album leans more towards the metal than the hardcore side. a lot of power chords and simplistic rhythms and structure make up the majority of songs. i can see a lot of people at a show bobbing their heads to the chugga riffs as that is what dominates most of the songs.. almost all the songs are about the crap that exists in so many people's lives like 'bitterness', 'hatred', 'emptiness', 'betrayal', 'lies', 'darkness' ... need i go on. erase is quite clear in exposing the key to deal with these black issues. the vocals are metal like with a bit of a growl.
