This is an agreeable six-song album which has a more traditional heavy rock sound. These songs are funky, especially "Salt Shaker." "Lown Jacked" is a funky song with a catchy groove reminiscent of the late 70's and early 80's, yet with enough freshness to make it 90's music. The songs are listenable and pleasing; however, the vocals need some improvement style-wise. The vocalist's raspy-sounding tone is much more effective than his clear tone (which is generally flat). When singing with a raspy edge, the vocalist contributes an attitude which is complementary to the music. "Never Return" could be a good ballad with a little more all-around fluidity. With the exception of the occasional loss of vocal identity and choppy BGV's, Grand Exit presents some great musical fun with this musical effort. It's really worth a listen.
