What can I say this was a fun disc to listen to a couple of times through, but I can't imagine listening to it for more than that. Alright I confess I've never been a big Stryper fan, and maybe that's got something to do with it. In fact I've only enjoyed a couple of songs by them ever, but I always enjoy listening to covers of their songs. Further I must tell you that I've never really been a Guardian fan either...so take this review with those rather large grains of salt.
What you got is an old 80's glam band covering the songs by an old 80's glam band. Now that's just funny in and of itself! Flip the jewel case over and it gets even funnier! A classic glam picture of the boys from Stryper with Guardian's members faces cut out and pasted over the faces of the Stryper personnel. Worth a laugh for sure!
The songs themselves are performed with complete seriousness and accuracy. No it's not Michael Sweet on vocals, giving a not quite so high pitched vocal range. The guitars are handled with awesome ability and pound out some great leads throughout. All in all I think these versions are better than the originals, but still for me I won't be listening too many times.
Guardian and Stryper fans you are going to eat this up!

Guardian has recorded all the songs on Stryper's Yellow and Black Attack as a tribute to the fathers of Christian glam metal. Whether your collection holds Guardian, Stryper, old school cool metal, or all three, this will be a welcome addition. The original Yellow and Black Attack is a classic, and Guardian treats it that way. The cover art…
HM Magazine #76Reviewed by Doug Van PeltThe wait is finally over! Guardian's Stryper tribute is complete, and it was worth the wait! Everything, from the packaging to the performance brings back fun and warm memories of that ground-breaking band. One of the few differences you'll notice between Guardian's straight-up recording and the original is the guitar solos. Tony Palacios does some nifty shredding here. Jamie Rowe's vocals, of…Similar sounding releases
