Joyful Noyz
Run

Even though this tape has been around for a couple of years, and the music is slightly dated, I really enjoyed Run. The title cut starts this melodic power metal feast off in a big way, with a tight groove that never lets up. Of the three musicians in the band, all are listed as vocalists. Bassist Paul Smith was quite similar to Les Carlson, drummer Tommy Corbin reminded me of Scott Doerfler (ex-Xalt), and guitarist Todd Underwood sounded like himself. All ten songs sound really good. They range from ballads ("Here To Stay" and "To Be With You") to barn burners ("Only One" and "Greater Is He"). The intro to "Tenth Century Reasoning" is great, with Todd and Tommy trying to revive Paul, who seems to have died just before the song started. He came back and wails away.
Great tape! Make an effort to hear this one.
