Knockout was formed in 1999 on the outskirts of Chicago. They have toured the country and have released "Searching for Solid Ground" with Fearless records.
Knockout is quick paced melodic punk along the lines of Strung Out and Ten Foot Pole. This is the style that everyone was playing a few years ago, but few had real panache. Knockout isn't great, but they are solid. The first few songs on the album establish themselves with sharp hooks and catchy breakdowns. Shared vocals keep things fresh and add to the mix. Somewhere in the middle of the album things get boring and repetitive. There's even a Saves the Day clone song towards the end ("So This is Sorry"). Knockout claims their place at the table with talent, but they have some growing to do.
