This disc will please hardcore hardcore fans, but for the rest of us, it's the same old same old.
Despite the fact that I am on the verge of my 39th birthday, I like to rock out. I've been a fan of hardcore music for about ten years. OK, so I came late to the party. I've been a fan of some of the best that the Tooth & Nail family of labels has had to offer. But despite the fact that I like the music, it's probably time for me to stop reviewing new hardcore discs. I'm not sure if it is my advancing years or the fact that it's all beginning to sound the same.
As far as hardcore bands go, Luti-Kriss out of Atlanta, is a talented group of kids who put together a decent album. But that is about as far as it goes. I listen to the disc and I hear the same thing I hear from most other hardcore bands. Same driving guitars and bass, same guttural, growling vocals, same smashing drums. Lyrically, the band seems to rely heavily on what would have to be considered pretty standard CCM-ish lyrics. Put those same words to any other style of music and they would be fairly basic fare.
In the end, it is a passable, listenable album, but it doesn't stand out from anything else that is out there. But hardcore hardcore fans will probably eat it up nonetheless.
