No matter which way you cut it, this album is awesome. Everything is, simply put, good. I'll start with the band comparisons that so many people love. The best I can come up with is a cross between Training For Utopia (older) and Society's Finest (newer). However, the L-K feel that we know and love is still there. The Training For Utopia part is evident in the discordance and chaotic feel in the music. The Si-Fine part comes out in the scream of the vocals and the metal feel to the music. The L-K part is simply the creativity used throughout the album. Although the vocals aren't as crazy as the songs off their split with Travail, they have a lot more refinement to them, along with more angst and emotion. A good example of this is in the song "Blacksmith" (also on the SolidState sampler). The vocals in this song remind me a little of xdisciplex A.D. due to the fullness and power of the scream. In some songs, like "The 'Anni Hilat'Ion", the vocals are a higher scream, very reminiscent to Society's Finest. Usually, I don't like a lot of distortion in the vocals, but in this case, it makes everything sound better. The music is really heavy at some parts, and just really creative at others. They are able to blend the heaviness of most metal bands with creative riffs that make a unique mess of beauty and brutalness. This album completely revives my faith in SolidState as true purveyors of good music. Oh yeah, these guys put God first, the band second, and it's evident in everything they do (especially concerts). That's always a good thing.

HM Magazine #88Reviewed by Bryan RutherfordRoll out the red carpets of the music industry. "Rookie of the year" may already be here in Luti-Kriss. Blending together trendy genres such as hardcore, rap-metal, thrash, and just a pinch of emo, Luti-Kriss is sure to make a splash. The new LP Throwing Myself is not only a plethora of Aggro-Rock, but it's a sign of things to come (my apologies to Third Root) for music and its caretakers.…Decapolis 2001Reviewed by Nate BaileyLuti-Kriss is somewhat new to the Solid State roster and are from Georgia. They have toured all over the US and this release marks their debut. "Throwing Myself" is Luti-Kriss's latest work. The album is different than most of the bands in the metal/hardcore genre in a lot of ways. Before seeing them live, I had heard little about them, but afterwards I knew I wanted to pick up a CD. Their live…Art for the Ears 2001Reviewed by Marco PovervestDark, threatening sounds are the most striking aspect of this band. It has a dark overall sound. Luti-Kriss is a metalcore band from Georgia, USA. Throwing Myself is their first Solid State Records release. And quite an intense one too. The music is diverse in intensity, yet the dark sound is like a sauce to spice it up and give it the same taste. The music is groovy but without fast drum work.…The Phantom Tollbooth 2001Reviewed by Ken MuellerThis disc will please hardcore hardcore fans, but for the rest of us, it's the same old same old. Despite the fact that I am on the verge of my 39th birthday, I like to rock out. I've been a fan of hardcore music for about ten years. OK, so I came late to the party. I've been a fan of some of the best that the Tooth & Nail family of labels has had to offer. But despite the fact that I like the…The Phantom Tollbooth 2001Reviewed by Michial FarmerAfter my recent Zao review attracted a larger-than-usual volume of hate mail, I made the decision to start being a little more fair in my dealings with "extreme music." My first opportunity came with Throwing Myself, Luti-Kriss's debut on Solid State Records. I'm biased against this band for several reasons: (a) I heard them when they were an indie band, and they were awful. (b) They purposely…
