Epitaph Records. Album Info: This New York City hardcore band put out their first EP back in 1989. Hold It Down is their 7th release and first album for the band on Epitaph Records.
This is unmistakably 90's New York City Hardcore. Madball's been around in one form or another for the last 10 years and in the hardcore scene where most bands don't last two years, that's dedication. It's obvious through their lyrics and samples that they love hardcore and they're here to stay. This is a well produced metallic hardcore record with a sound akin to Sick Of It All with heavier guitars. The only problem is that the songs were hard to tell apart from each other, sort of like they made a cookie cutter of a hardcore song and created a bunch of other songs using that cutter. If you're a fan of the tougher side of hardcore, you should check this out.
