"Wow!" - This was the first word out of my mouth when I popped this cassette into my deck! If the names John & Dino Elefante, and yes - the man who I personally consider as the only guitarist (next to Ty Tabor) to have the style, finesse, along with the get-down/get-dirty, in-your-face feel aka Steve Vai - Tony Palacios (Guardian) mean anything to you...then you know you're dealing with quality. Mastedon's second effort is very impressive. The songs on this album are filled with great melodies, clean soaring vocals, fantastic guitar work, a solid rhythm section, and it's all enhanced with such a clean, very well done production that I'm sure there will be a lot of secular producers and record executives who will be envious! This is what "Christian music" is all about! Setting the standards, not following them! It wasn't until recently that I've gotten excited about new, up and coming artists, but with the likes of King's X, Holy Soldier, and now Mastedon making their mark, I'm now literally running to the record store to get these new albums! I highly recommend this album to everyone. If you're still not sure, find a friend who might already have it (right Doug?) and listen to it one time through. You'll agree it's worth forking out your hard-earned cash! Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to listen to this album again!
