Greg Minier. That name probably doesn't light a spark in your mind, but it should. Minier plays guitar for the hottest speedcore, thrash, kill'n-shred Christian band -- The Crucified. (Actually, it's more like he destroys guitars for the band.)

Well, the reason I brought up his name is that he has put out a solo album. The special thing about his solo album is that he is the only musician who appears on the album. That's right, Greg Minier played all the guitars, bass guitars, drums, and sang all the vocals that you'll hear on his album, "MINIER."

I was amazed as I listened to the timed precision and the flawless performance of such a young, talented college boy. (That's right, Greg's still in college.) The album is incredible. It shreds and tears away at any part of your hearing you have.

The album can be summed up in two words -- restrained insanity.

The musical content is truly incredible, considering it is all played by one guy. But the lyrical content balances the album perfectly.

Minier puts the issues up front more than any band I have ever heard. The song, "The Skeptic," pretty much destroys the stance of skepticism by proclaiming "the skeptic will burn." I love it. Another song, "Philosophy of Man," straight-up points out modern thought as "cheap human lies." And Minier also confronts abortion at what may be the most graphic description of injustice I've ever heard: "Chopping up the innocent, Cutting them up inside, A motherless, unwanted child, Approaching time to die." (I'll stop here and spare you what becomes even more graphic.)

Man, the album is hot, and I totally suggest it. If you enjoy music on the wild side, this album is calling you.

Heaven's Metal #34Reviewed by Doug Van PeltHere's a belated review of a tight Thrash project by Greg Minier (and no, this one doesn't sound like Applehead), which never was reviewed here after its release over one year ago. With an angry voice Greg screams out his urgent messages about the reality of Hell ("Do Not Be Deceived"), the horror of physical abuse and co-dependent relationships ("Price"), abortion ("Killing Of The Innocent"),…
