Behold the Man

Hailing from Sarasota, Florida comes America's answer to Mortification--Ninthour. "Behold the Man" is a very strong effort from this four-member band. The three songs on this tape show off the versatility of this talented group. The first song, "In Context," is a good tune referring to the topic of Bible study and using Scripture in its proper context. "Aborticide" compares abortion to the mass genocide of the Nazi death camps. "Gas chambers now the wombs of death/Doctor's office a concentration camp." Very thought-provoking lyrics. The last song, "Torn in Two," refers to Christ's death on the cross. Vocalist Justin Holcomb sounds just like Steve Rowe (Mortification). Guitarist Jim Davis is very talented--going from the mellow beginning of "Torn in Two" to high speed thrash. Bassist Chris Thostenson and drummer Bryan Malaspina round out this band, which is best described as thrash/death metal. Great debut...can't wait to hear more.
