What a wonderful surprise! This self-titled, four-song demo shows the band's great musical potential. These guys give you good songs, good music and a good time; yet with a serious intent. The first song, "Stand and Deliver," is the most commercial rock song on the demo (meaning that it is the most well-rounded song musically and lyrically; yet it remains enjoyable). "Searching for Reality" offers the best lyrics on the demo, plus an excellent display of musical variety--although the transitions between styles and modes could be a bit smoother. "Wake Up" is the heaviest song represented here, and it reinforces the musical diversity of the band. To close out the demo, Peacemaker demonstrates their lyrical diversity with "Real Love," a story song about a girl who is disillusioned with her family life (to say the least). This band is genuinely refreshing! It's not that they are necessarily on the forefront of music, but they do what they do well. As a band, they are catchy and truly listen-able. The lead vocalist has a great voice and a lot of potential that, with voice lessons, practice, age, and a little more attitude could actually distinguish him as a heavyweight vocal contender. Although the overall sound mix could have improved, the variety of rhythms, emotion, musical feel and presentation represented by this four-song effort make it well worth the $5 to give it a try.
