industrial industrial metal

Take industrial like you're used to and really focus on the heavy end of it. Make the guitars loud, in your face and distorted, add as much distortion to the vocals as seems humanly possible and still keep them sounding well human, round everything out with a lot of really trippy sounds and freakish atmosphere and throw in tons of samples and Paragon Null somehow emerges from the chaos.

4 songs on one tape leaves you only to wonder what kind of madness this band will pull when they are allowed the freedom of a full length project. (Which according to their webpage is not too far off.)

Track one, In This Hour, has some incredible lyrics that really seep into you, but it is called the Polarized Mix and is the only track I find myself fast forwarding through cause the music is quite repetitious. It's a good song with great lyrics and is good to listen to but does not have many changes within it.

The rest of the tracks just about peel the skin off of you with their intensity.

My favorite track has to be track 3 Ashen where the music seems to be going in so many directions it's nearly impossible to follow the song and the vocals moved very much up front all the while there is this underlying funky sound that brings the song to a new level. This song simply rips.

This is a definite must tape for those treading the industrial side of Christian music as the band professes their thanks "Most importantly" to "the Light that never dims, our Saviour above..."

Although the lyrics were not included with the tape they are located on their webpage and in some of the lesser distorted parts of songs you can make them out very clearly. The song In This Hour is a direct quote of John 16:32-33, and the rest of their songs are just as well written from a Christian aspect.

Production on this cassette is very very good. I was seriously impressed upon first listening to this tape and have only increased that with each further listen.
