A lot of you have been waiting to read a review of this album...hoping this promising band had reached the stature of Heart - rock's most happenin' female-fronted hard-rock band. Well, there's not a lot of metal guitars here, as far as fitting into a real cool, rockin' groove a la Heart, but there is a few. Check out "Crying in the Night" - a hard rockin' tune that hits the spot - with sizzling leads at that! I think they really find their groove when they slow down and let it rock slow and heavy. The majority of the songs here follow that formula, which is why I think this album works much better than their debut disc - Calling Down Fire. Maybe their third one will be called "Consumed by Fire"!? After one serious listen, I want to hear 5 of the 10 songs over again. Half of it is good. The other half? Well, they keep showing growth...so maybe next time it'll be 10/10 winners. I wouldn't be surprised.
