Emotional punkers Rufio release their first album on the brand new label The Militia Group.
As the emo-rock sound continues to flourish, many a punk rockers have given up aggression for emotion, preferring Vagrant Records to Fat Wreck Chords. Rufio's first album, Perhaps, I Suppose..., sounds like they're not quite ready to give up their first love entirely. The result is a tight mix of fast, technical punk and very clean, heartfelt vocals. There are great harmonies all over this record and the musicianship is very impressive considering their age (the average age among band members is 19).
While most of the songs are quite speedy, Rufio throws in a couple of slower tearjerkers such as "Raining In September" and "Tears". While the album does run a bit long with 15 tracks, you certainly get your money's worth. If you're digging the sounds of Jimmy Eat World, but you still love Slick Shoes, then definitely check out Rufio.
