Seemless is a combination of various bands from the Massachusetts rock scene. Overcast's guitarist, Shadows Fall's drummer, Killswitch Engage's vocalist - the band boasts a pretty impressive resume. However, the squeaky clean production and more rock-oriented sound separate Seemless from their members' past endeavors.
Though one might expect the band's obvious metal influences to shine through, their Equal Vision debut instead tries to rock more like the Who and Led Zeppelin with the occasional bluesy guitar riff. The sound is initially catchy and intriguing, but this feeling fades a little with repeated listens. After awhile, many of the songs begin sounding the same. The band's sound is also not all that innovative in that Soundgarden and Stavesacre both have made similar records in the past.
If you are a fan of the band's previous efforts, be warned that this is a little different, but it is still a pretty enjoyable listen. If you are looking for a rock album that is decent though it does not have a whole lot of lasting value, then Seemless is just as good as the similar bands in this genre.
