Ah yeah, the kings of toughguy hardcore return. With the Transformers (we're talking old school Auto-bots/Decepticons era, not the new Beast Machines) drug running deep again comes the third release from this Erie, PA band. The last release was hard to obtain seeing as you had to trade your cash to foreign currency before sending your order to the label (it was on Goodlife out of Europe somewhere). I picked this one up through TakeHold at TOMfest, and I do not regret it.
This album is an easy listen through. The songs all sound a bit the same but not to the point of where you forget what song you're on. And once again you can't go wrong with a Transformers sample beginning nearly EVERY song. Of course there's "warriors of cobra" where a sample of Cobra Commander (of GI Joe fame for our younger readers) is screaming and GI Joe samples continue through the song. One would think overuse of toys from a 20 somethings youth would make an album really lame and nerdy but you try telling these guys that.
Musically you got super toughguy hardcore nothing more and certainly nothing less. You like NIV? You like xdisciplex? You like the Victory Records old days? Go find this CD NOW!!!!
Lyrically the album, as can be seen from the title, deals with hate and the band's view on things that cultivate our hate. "Merge for the Kill" for example deals with hating evil, while "Revenge" deals with hating revenge (who would have guessed). Also, all the samples of Megatron (the big gun bad guy Transformer, once again for our young readers) show Megatron's ultimate hate of the Auto-bots. Check out angelskinmedia.com for an interview with Shockwave to get the full story.
This review is short because it doesn't need to be wordy just like this band doesn't need to be. Join the Shockwave Militia soon.

Dead Zine 2002Reviewed by Hey YouShockwave. The name itself is from Transformers, just like everything else in this CD. The music here is just like the CDep Dominicon, very heavy and brutal with about 4 or 5 different kinds of vocals. Where the music lacks diversity, the vocals make up for it. For a more in depth description, read the other review(s) of this album, and the Dominicon disc. My main focus in this review is the…Similar sounding releases
