Bubba Jennings is back with more of his smooth folk-rock influenced by the wonderful era we call the late 60s and early 70s. Laughter In The Morning LP is simple in its instrumentation and delivery, simple like sitting in an independent (non-chain) coffee shop with a double mocha and listening to the quiet (though not always) but captivating music of someone who has created something for the sake of creating it, as opposed to as the means to an end. The record is also a story of sorts. The weaving of male and female vocals gives the album a Belle and Sebastian-like quality, a diversity in style and structure that moves the words along in the way the songs of a musical move along the theatrical storyline.
