As I write this, it's a record low outside today and it feels like fall, nice & cool and rainy to boot. Perfect weather for Celtic music & The Crossing caters to this need perfectly. 11 songs, of which almost half are instrumentals known as reels, slip jigs, & pipe sets. I like the instrumentals better than the songs with the vocals, but not to take away from them either, I like all but 3 of 'em. Totalling 51 minutes long, songs such as "Pawky Adam Glen/O'Neill's March", "The Riggs", "Dancing At The Crossroads", "There Were Roses", "Swag The Hardy Piper", "Winter", "Red Haired Reels", & "Farewell To The Max/Athol Highlanders" take one's mind & thoughts across the sea to the hills of Ireland. Two of the three remaining songs, "Joseph's Son" & "Bold Little Preacher" are plain boring and the last song "Ecstacy" sounds like ABBA or Fleetwood Mac with Celtic music. Overall this is an excellent buy so get it before Fall gets here and experience the beauty of Celtic music for yourself.
