This is an exciting record. Fall of Troy combines the best of DC-style hardcore, jazz, metal, and a few other genres that have been completely over-replicated, but they manage to produce something that can stand on its own. For one thing, this trio has some serious musical chops. The guitars are all over the place, the vocals range from melodic singing to all-out screaming, and nothing on this record resorts to cliche. It is rare to hear a record, especially a debut record, and think that a band has developed something novel, but that may be the case here. Fall of Troy is a breath of fresh air.
