Arkam Records has an outstanding split CD for us featuring side-projects of Joey and Jamie Barrier of the Wednesdays. We get 10 songs from the Natchez Shakers, and 7 from the Pine Hill Haints, all of which are soaked in the black tar, haunting, creepy, rowdy rockabilly that only kids from northern Alabama can deliver. With influences such as Hank Williams, the Pogues, George Jones, and the Dubliners, their bio states correctly that you are in for "old time music that you can pogo to." Wonderful recording values, rousing songs, infectious energy, I can't recommend this disc enough.
