here's a short split cd with two pretty average but not awful pop-ish punk-ish bands. the plus ones feature former mr. t experience bass and singing person joel reader as well as former screeching weasel drumming person danny panic. their two original songs sound an awful lot like mtx circa the "revenge is sweet" album. the other song is a cover of "no matter what" by badfinger (you know, that song that goes "no matter what we do/the songs all sound like abbey road..." okay, perhaps it doesn't really say that, but it certainly should!)... the travoltas (groan...) are a little pop-punk outfit from holland or somewhere and they have really weird accents. their music is kind of ramones-ish with beach boys-ish songwriting. i mean, the melodies and vocal harmonies are extremely beach boys-ish. they do two originals and a song called "endless summer" which i believe is a cover of the standells song by the same name (if i'm wrong, don't correct me. i really don't care). i guess i like the cd alright, but i'm in no rush to hear more by the bands. whether or not you'll like it or buy it is entirely up to you, of course.
