Thunder Child
[demo]
Reviewed by Doug Van Pelt
This Dallas-based band, who used to be known as R.O.C.K., play a straight-ahead form of power metal. A dying genre, right? Wrong! These guys play it so well and with enough melody and feeling to breathe new life into this tried and true sub-genre of a genre. The first cut here, "The King," is a great worship (at full volume) tune, with declaratory lyrics of "He's the Messiah/He's the King." Great stuff! "Borrowed Time" is another rippin' tune with choice guitar riffs. These guys are good musicians and all these four songs show it. For ordering info, write: Ken Kelly, 710 Simmons, Euless TX 76040.
