YIKES! Where has this speed/power metal band been all my life?

Ok, gotta calm down just a tad so I can effectively write this review. What we have here is members of Lightmare, Seventh Avenue and Chryztyne, some of Germany's best metal bands, who have united to become Treasure Seeker. 9 of the 10 songs are cover tunes of old Christian metal bands...hence the name of the album A Tribute to the Past. The kick off track however is an original song also titled 'A Tribute to the Past' and is by and large the absolute best song in this genre of music, oh and the best song on this disc.

    The complete track listing is:

    1. "A Tribute to the Past"
    2. "Too Late For Living" (Saint)
    3. "To Hell With The Devil" (Stryper)
    4. "Flames of Fire" (Leviticus)
    5. "Out of the Darkness" (Bloodgood)
    6. "Silent Screams" (Rez)
    7. "Rebels of Jesus Christ" (Jerusalem)
    8. "Warrior of Light" (Force 3)
    9. "Heroes" (Bride)
    10. "Meet Again" (Creed)

For those who don't know, the Creed listed here is NOT the Creed who put out My Own Prison and Human Clay. NO they are an old 80's glam band from Sweden, I believe their only album was called Sign of Victory. Every track on this CD is amazing. I've never been a Rez fan, and Force 3 I thought kind of sucked but Treasure Seeker can take these extremely so-so songs and make them really good. When you give Treasure Seeker a great song like 'Heroes' or 'Too Late For Living' it becomes a master piece...yes master piece.

I could ramble on and on over this CD but it's pointless. If you are into any type of speed/power/progressive metal you can not live another day without beginning your search for this import CD. Find it, you will be pleased you did!

HM Magazine #73Reviewed by Doug Van PeltHere's a very special album. William Hieb of Seventh Avenue, Andy Gutjahr of Lightmare, and Olaf Hayer of Chryztyne (all Scandinavian bands) got together to pay Tribute To The Past, laying down fairly straight-forward covers of Stryper ("To Hell With The Devil"), Bloodgood ("Out Of The Darkness"), Saint ("Too Late For Living"), and other Christian metal founders, like REZ, Bride, Jerusalem.
