I'll be honest. This thrash-oriented CD has left me a bit disappointed. Maybe it's my wide-range musical tastes, but I'm not as excited about this release as I would have been, say, five years or so ago. Mind you, the production is good, the songs are tight and the Bible studies and commentaries added with the lyrics are an added plus, but there's really nothing here I haven't heard before. Or seen before, for that matter. The CD cover art smacks of a Dangerous Toys rip, and the x-ray photos on the back cover recall the ones on Offspring's CD. Yeah, I know I'm going to get heat for that one, but it does. What can I say? As I said before, the music is well played, especially on "Mortal Stomp", "Never", "Gutterbox", and "Conform To Reality". But I can't seem to listen for very long, as the vocals can get annoying after an extended period of time, kinda like that vocalist from Overkill. I do, however, pop this CD in from time to time. It's good, but it's not great.

If you're one of those people, really consider giving the band another try. I personally gave Symphonic Extremities a rating of 8, I felt they showed a lot of power and thrashed like the best of them. Sure there were a couple of tracks that needed polishing but overall I felt it was a very enjoyable…
