Old school rockers: listen up. The kids today (anyone under 27, actually) have a phrase for the metal and hard rock we all hold dear from the 80s. Are you ready for this? (It hurts) "Butt Rock." That's exactly what it's called. If we look back at bands like Poison and Winger, we have to admit that some of this scorn and ridicule is deserved. Metal did become a parody and needed to be dethroned with a new rebellious sound. But just because a younger generation has rejected our music of choice doesn't mean we have to do without. Like those coyly marketed Monster Ballads compilations, this Rock On series features several tracks (there's 30 in all) that represent an immensely popular era fairly well (BC, Stryper, Vengeance, Bride), plus the odd addition of Justified and EDL. In fact, each of these songs was a #1 song on the Loud Charts.
