It doesn't take a weatherman to know which way the wind blows, and it doesn't take an Einstein to predict that this new punk praise album was inevitable. With the advent of the youth praise music, exemplified by SonicFlood and many others, in addition to the flood of stylistic praise compilations such as Swing Praise, for example, why not a punk rock worship disc?

This is not an album where a group of safety-pinned punkers got together to write thrashing praise choruses together. Instead, it's these same punkers with their unique takes on primarily familiar church tunes. These include "I Will Celebrate," "Lord I Lift Your Name On High," and "Shout To The Lord."

If you think about it, though, punk is a natural style for these songs since worship choruses are, by their very nature, simple, straightforward, and musically uncomplicated. Only difference is this kind of churchy punk rock lacks the snotty bad attitude of its secular counterpart. I don't know if they're ever going to introduce mosh pits to Sunday morning services, but if they ever do, this album would be the template for that worship team.
