Smart, snappy emo-like pop with enough commercial appeal to blow up on the radio. These guys also had a song on last issue's Hard Music Sampler CD, the energetic rocker "I Can't Stand Another Minute Here." But these guys have more than one or two songs in 'em (you have to hear "Sorry Excuse" as well), as all 12 tunes here get our attention. More than one person in our office gives this one multiple spins. You will, too, if you're a fan of The Juliana Theory, Brandtson, or Pop Unknown. Write these guys now: Vroom, 69 Gough Road, Rustburg VA 24588

Decapolis 2000Reviewed by Tom BastianVroom, Decapolis's first band! These guys are good. When I first saw them they were a straight up pop punk band. It's been a while since their last record, and boy have they, should we say, grown up? At anyrate this is a great album. Catchy songs, driving guitars, and John's vocals. Yes John's vocals, they have to be the most stand out vocals for this style of music that I have heard. This guy…Decapolis 2000Reviewed by ConradOkay you might think that I'm giving this a good grade just because I put out their album. But I am truly trying to be as objective as possible. This album is amazing. It's all catchy hook-rock that simply rocks out and has you singing along to most every song. Vroom used to be punk rock but fortunately they matured from that. They kept the catchy melodies but added guitar texture and layering.…Decapolis 2000Reviewed by Jim ShadyOK, so I like to support the home team. But, I have good reason to--these guys are good. Decapolis is venturing into record promotion and their first signee is quite a smash. Vroom is a power pop band with some great riffs, tight transitions and never ending songs (which is not characteristic of power pop bands). Some songs remind me of Blink 182 (without the language) while others are…Decapolis 2000Reviewed by Matt R.The much anticipated second record from this Virginia band wastes no time trying to sink its meaty hooks into the listener. Driving punk-fueled pop tunes lace this effort and at times seem to be making the NOFX cry of please play this song on the radio, missing only the bit at the end of the NOFX song that purposely disallows the song from being played on the airwaves. The topics are pretty…
