The much anticipated second record from this Virginia band wastes no time trying to sink its meaty hooks into the listener. Driving punk-fueled pop tunes lace this effort and at times seem to be making the NOFX cry of please play this song on the radio, missing only the bit at the end of the NOFX song that purposely disallows the song from being played on the airwaves.
The topics are pretty typical to any punk record put out by twenty-somethings, apologetic and endearing songs about girls and growing up. Production wise, the album features a nice blend and layering of guitars and changes up quite a bit keeping my interest a little longer than the average punk record. Stand out tracks include the first song "Sorry Excuse" and the last song, a pretty emo-tinged song "Dumb Like That", which starts off acoustic and pours the emotion on pretty thick. Overall the record is very sensitive, enough to make any teenage girl swoon, but as a twenty something male on a steady diet of pretentious rock music I am not really moved enough to include songs from this record on a mix tape. The packaging is downright poor (this comment was based on the old CD artwork), but at least the tunes inside speak for themselves and get the job, though minimum wage, done.
