Apostle's new tape, Hymns, is hotter than ever! It starts off with a Baroque-era classical organ piece, which, of course, drops into a barrage of metal madness. Rock and classical mix so well. I'm glad to finally see a Christian guitarist really embrace it. Apostle's metal is very heavy. The drums, bass and guitar really go after it in each of Apostle's songs. The rocking intros they play set up Matt Harding's piercing vocals perfectly. Matt very boldly throws out scripture with each breath. This tape is bleedin' great! It's got some of the hottest, most frantic guitar runs you'll find in Christian music. I hear great improvements on this tape over Chariots of Iron, which is no poor tape itself. The guitar work on this tape is sure to please guitar heads. If this tape doesn't make your ears bleed, it's not loud enough. The songs here were produced by Matt, Glenn Kaiser, and Tim Lawhon. Overall, this tape is hot, you ought to get it. The only thing that could bother you at all is Matt's unique vocals. If you don't like 'em at first, give 'em a couple more listens.
