Armageddon wastes no time letting us know what their sound is like. No long keyboard intros here. They charge off with the title track in high gear. Those of you who miss the sound of Saint (or Judas Priest) will embrace the straight-ahead style of Armageddon. These sledgehammer rockers aren't a parody of their style, though. They even tackle an anthem-like tune, called "Mercenaries of Unjustice". "The Ship of Changes" takes another departure - this time into power ballad land. "Blazing Wastelands", which appeared on the East Coast Metal album, makes a reappearance here. This sounds like a faster version. It smokes! There's plenty of blazing lead fills all over the song. "We're Outta Here" and "Giving It to You" are two accessible rockers, suitable for airplay, due to the catchy hook planted into the chorus. Overall, this is a simple tape: You put it on, blast your senses with non-stop, straight-ahead metal. No frills, no keyboards. It's simple.
