The music making machine that is Atom and His Package is at it again with a new release called Attention Blah Blah Blah (hopeless). If you aren't familiar with Atom and His Package here is some information for you. Atom and His Package is a one man act. Atom is Adam Goren from the Philadelphia area and his Package is basically a box that contains all his songs and that is probably from Japan. He records all his own music, drums, guitar, bass, keyboards and all that jazz. His live show is something to behold. With all his music in his package, he just presses PLAY and sings along to his music. His shows are actually a lot of fun. Once in a while he will pick up a guitar to play but for the most part it is just him with his box.

I couldn't classify Atom and His Package if I tried. Basically it is just a really good time. Sometimes it's taken as a joke but it's not so much a joke anymore now with Atom and His Package's fourth full length and the world wide tours to accompany them. Adam uses lyrics that have such wide variety that it just makes Atom and His Package more important. Lyrics that have to deal with politics, pro-sports, the metric system, love and friendship and sometimes just plain old humor. Atom and His Package's new release is no different from his others except for the "maturity" in his song writing. More complex and a lot more "professional" than his earlier releases. The production of Atom has greatly improved from his earlier releases as well.

I have been a fan of Atom and His Package since 1998 or so and I will continue to be. I like his music and I love his live shows and his political and social awareness is really astonishing. I think that Attention Blah Blah Blah is a great album and I think that if you are a fan of Atom you won't be disappointed and if you aren't please check it out. I think you will be impressed. My favorite lyrics would have to be "I'm down right amazed at what I can destroy with just a hammer."
