After three Forefront releases and a three year hiatus, Bleach blasts back into the music market with their first Tooth & Nail album. Again, For the First Time is a giant leap forward into the nerdrock realm, where anthems of basslines and celebrations of the future blend in and out of fuzzy guitar dreams. Just as Weezer's classic "Blue Album," First Time contains that certain timeless feel — the album would still be fresh even if put on constant repeat in a stereo. One warning, though: it is futile to try to resist raising a fist and singing along to every word of every song, as 13 tracks of ultra-catchy rock fly past in what seems like mere seconds. Tooth & Nail made a strong decision with Bleach, and I think First Time promises to be one of the best releases of the year.
