Live in Germany 1993. It seems to me that Bloodgood was a severely under-rated in America while at the same time they gained a very large following in Europe. This is not unusual, the same thing happened to Saviour Machine! So it's no wonder that when the band decided to pack it in, they did one final tour through the lands that gave them the respect they deserved.
To Germany, With Love marks one of the last shows the band performed, and is packed with everything you could expect from Bloodgood. From crazy high pitched vocal screams, to thick crunchy metal guitars, to frenzied mosh parts. 14 tracks of classic Bloodgood are delivered here, and I would have liked to have seen some more material from Detonation, or the self titled first album but they were on the All Stand Together tour and this is the majority of the music performed. The insert has a small piece of a Heaven's Metal interview, and Michael Bloodgood does indeed state that their new album was most popular overseas.
However, when track 12 starts up with the very familiar riffs of 'Crucify' you get moving quickly. Traditionally this song leads into Messiah which praises the resurrection of Jesus. Although they do play that song next, they stop long enough for Michael to speak to the crowd. He leads them all in the sinner's prayer and then the haunting guitars take over as 'Messiah' brings the chills and goose bumps that it deserves.
Bloodgood fans do not miss this. The production is not great, the mix is not the best, but you will not regret listening to these guys pour their hearts out for Jesus Christ. It's amazing! If you are not a Bloodgood fan this is not the CD to start with...go pick up the KMG re-release of their self titled and Detonation...then buy this CD! If you're not familiar with Bloodgood their style was a hard-edge glam metal, more of a Skid Row than a Poison style of music.
Go!, Go into the world and tell
Tell all creation He lives
He lives in the hearts of man
He's the Messiah!
7/10

The Phantom Tollbooth 2000Reviewed by Michial FarmerBloodgood is one of those bands that never really got the attention they deserved. Although they had a fairly strong following in Europe in the early 1990s, audiences in America never really jumped on the bandwagon. It's hard to understand why, actually. Their contemporaries, such as Stryper and Barren Cross, received a warm reception from American crowds, and surely "Anguish and Pain" was no…
The Phantom Tollbooth 2000Reviewed by Shari LloydAt my first Cornerstone, this pop music fan discovered metal and Bloodgood and my taste in music hasn't been the same since. Over the years, I managed to see Bloodgood several times. Eventually, the band broke up for many of the reasons bands are still breaking up--lack of support, age, families to support etc. Like today, metal was more popular in Europe than in the US. One of the concerts near…
Heaven's Metal #44Reviewed by Doug Van PeltWow! What a way to say goodbye. Bloodgood, along with German Heaven's Metal distributor Matthias Mittelstadt, recorded their hot set on DAT machine for this (very) limited edition compact disc (990 numbered copies). This is more or less an official bootleg, yet the sonics fair no worse than the two live discs released by Frontline three years ago. It's hard to compare Bloodgood tours with each…Similar sounding releases
