Bride returns with their third album and their best, because it consistently rocks. "Fool Me Once" starts things going with lots of rapid fire snare drumming. Folks used to their speedy delivery in concert will love this one. "Hot Down South Tonight" introduces some new Bride sounds. Their treading new ground for Christian metal...secular similarities could be found in a hybrid of The Cult and INXS. The title track has a really hot bass solo by Frankie Partipilo. It starts off with a spoken/whisper intro similar to "Heroes", from Live to Die. Producer John Petri did a good job of presenting the Bride sound with raw energy. "Until the End We Rock" has its moments, but sounds too thin in places. "Evil Dreams" features a whiplash delivery of words in almost a rap fashion. "Under the Influence" is a throbbing and plodding rocker about the manslaughter of drunken driving. Reminds me of Ted Nugent. "All Hallows Eve" borders on thrash with a heavy crunch. It conveys the message about the origin and real meaning of Halloween, beyond the kiddee games of trick or treat. "Rock Those Blues Away" offer some harmonica riffs and gritty, Southern rockin' blues vocals with a little organ - sounding like a Sunday night at church with Bride. Dale's voice sounds more seasoned and mature than past efforts here, probably due to more singing and less screaming. Troy Thompson takes over the roles of lead and rhythm guitar well. Overall, Bride has taken another step forward.

Dead Zine 2002Reviewed by D_ListerThis was the third release by Bride, and was unleashed upon us back in 1989. With a new logo design, and new concept for cover art, Silence Is Madness also proved to be the turning point for the band's musical style as well. Track 2 "Hot Down South Tonight" along with track 9 "Rock Those Blues Away" ushered in the more rock-n-roll/Blues Rock style for the band as opposed to their glam metal…
