The material on this cd is overall... good. The lyrics on this cd... well... we'll get into that later. The following is a light-hearted rant... from a reflective point of view... I apologize for nothing... and nothing is truly meant personal, it's all just what I see from the perspective of what is offered when the album is obtained.

First issue... while the music is decent... even good at times... my issue with this album's music... is that none of it is original. What we have here, is a crockpot of popular mush. Take a little zao, a little disturbed, a little korn, a little slipknot, a little luti-kris, and... don't put them together... just layer them like a cake. There you have it. Now lick the frosting... eat the first layer of cake, eat the separating gel, eat the second layer of cake, eat the separator... eat the third layer of cake... and pretty soon... you get the idea. This album gives all of its influences one at a time. There is no mix... it's just layered spinoffs... at times... it's even plagiaristic.

With that said... here's the lyrical issue...

Well... first off... what does it mean to have your "faith enbalmed in a child" talking about being a good thing? The lyrics are confusing... if they are personal... they don't hold to any dictionary definitions... don't hold any grammatical or structural references... and most of the lyrics seem to be made from fake, shallow mindsets... I WILL NOT JUDGE THE MINDSET OF THE AUTHOR. What I will judge, is what the author projects by the execution method of the lyrics. From what I have to judge, these lyrics are represented by a fake character. If I am wrong, it is only because the lyrics project a wrong image. I have studied lyrical, prose, poetry studies... I can break down most any lyric, most any idea... most any prose... these don't make sense. I have rallied the opinions of others... I have attempted to have the lyrics broken down... obviously, the standard : praise God lyrics are easy... but the supposed "deep thoughtful" lyrics... seem written by a confused, immature individual. I wouldn't normally care... but it really does make a huge impact on this album.

Overall... this band has talent... put into the wrong areas. my message to the band... stop trying to be like everything else. If you are truly artists... make art... listen to what you want to make... not what they want you to make. And stop doing emo... you suck at it.

    5/10

Dead Zine 2001Reviewed by Hey YouLet me start off by saying that these guys have been around for somewhat of a long time, but never got too much recognition. I for one think that that is not fair. Every song I have heard from them have been creative and brutal. I just don't understand. On to the review...this CD is really good. The vocals, I believe have some effects to them, and if they don't, this guy isn't human. The vocals…
