This follow-up to the '89 release, "The Crucified," is three times more powerful than its predecessor. These brothers are in a rare position of being young in age, as well as being veterans of the Christian punk/hardcore scene. Marc Solomon is, in my opinion, one of the best lyricists around. On cuts like "Hate World" and "So Called Living 1991" are good examples of our generation's view of humanity and the problems that go along with it. New bassist Jeff Belew adds a lot of attack in his style to the Crucified sound. Greg Minier and Jim Chaffin round out the band's intensity to satisfy all thrashing ears. By far, "The Pillars Of Humanity" is the strongest Crucified effort yet. "This world betrays this world, it feasts upon me" is how some of us view the world outside Christianity. If you ever get a chance to see the Crucified play live, you will never want to go to a secular thrash show again. These boys are at the top of the heap.
